Issue 1
- Flatter me, and I may not believe you.
Criticize me, and I may not like you.
Ignore me, and I may not forgive you.
Encourage me, and I may not forget you.
- Treat a man as he is and he will remain as he is. Treat a man as he can
and should be and he will become as he can and should be.
- It is in vain to expect our prayers to be heard, if we do not strive as
well as pray.
- The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even
touched. They must be felt with the heart.
- Happiness always looks small while you hold it in your hands, but let it
go and you learn at once how big and precious it is.
- Wisest is he who knows he does not know.
- Some of the world's greatest feats were accomplished by people not smart
enough to know they were impossible.
- I slept and I dreamed that life is all joy, I woke and I saw that life is
all service. I served and I saw that service is joy.
- I don't know who my grandfather was; I am much more concerned to know what
his grandson will be.
- Cowards die many times before their deaths;
the valiant never taste death but once.
- We often want one thing and pray for another,
not telling the truth even to the Gods.
- Past the beggar and the suffering walked he who asks, Why, oh God, do you
not do something for these people? To which God replied, I did do
something, I made you.
- We must view young people not as empty bottles to be filled, but as
candles to be lit.
- Children have never been very good at listening to their elders, but they
have never failed to imitate them.
- Life's most persistent and urgent question is:
What are you doing for others?
- If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you like to win, but you think you can't,
It's almost a cinch you won't.
If you think you'll lose, you've lost.
For out in the world we find;
Success begins with a fellow's will.
It's all in the state of mind.
If you think you are outclassed, you are.
You've got to be sure of yourself before;
You can ever win a prize.
Life's battles don't always go;
To the stronger or faster man,
But sooner or later the man who wins;
Is the one who thinks he can.
