- I had no shoes and complained,
until I met a man who had no feet.
- The purpose of an education is to replace an empty mind with an open one.
- Opportunity is missed by most people because
it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.
- Do not dwell in the past, do not dwell in the future,
concentrate the mind on the present moment.
- There's one sad truth in life I've found
While journeying east and west -
The only folks we really wound
Are those we love the best.
We flatter those we scarcely know,
We please the fleeting guest,
And deal full many a thoughtless blow
To those who love us best.
- If there is any kindness I can show, or any
good thing I can do to any fellow being, let
me do it now, and not deter or neglect it, as
I shall not pass this way again.
