William Bonner is an American author of books, articles, and opinion columns on economic and financial subjects. He founded the publishing companies Agora, Inc. and Bonner & Partners. Bonner’s The Daily Reckoning and other newsletters have made Agora one of the largest consumer newsletter publishers in the world.

Bonner is the co-author of the New York Times best-selling books Financial Reckoning Day (2003) and Empire of Debt (2006.) In his writings, Bonner has argued that the economic future of the United States is in peril because of various socio-economic trends, not the least of which is America’s ever-increasing trade deficit.
