Edward Payson Powell (1833–1915) was an American author and journalist. Born in Clinton, New York, he graduated from New York’s Hamilton College and Union Theological Seminary and was ordained as a Congregational minister in 1871. He later worked as a journalist for the St. Louis Globe-Democrat and The Independent of New York. His notable works include Our Heredity from God; Consisting of Lectures on Evolution (1895) and How to Live in the Country (1911.)
