Inspirational Quotes by Gale Sayers (American Football Player)

Gale Sayers (1943–2020,) fully Gale Eugene Sayers, was an American football player. Named Rookie of the Year in 1965, he broke touchdown records during his playing career 1965–71 with the Chicago Bears.

Born in Wichita, Kansas, United States, Sayers was considered one the best running backs in the NFL, principally when he got out into the open field. Sayers was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977 at just 34 years old.

Following his NFL career, Sayers served as the athletic director of Southern Illinois University 1976–81.

Sayers’s autobiographies are I Am Third (1970) and Sayers: My Life and Times (2007.) Sayers’s friendship with Bears teammate Brian Piccolo was depicted in the film Brian’s Song (1971.)
