Jerry Stiller (1927–2020,) fully Gerald Isaac Stiller, was an American actor and comedian. He was the spouse of comedienne Anne Meara and father of actors Ben Stiller and Amy Stiller. Stiller was famous for playing oddball characters that were ill tempered but adored.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Stiller partnered with Meara in a comedy twosome in the 1950s. They performed on The Ed Sullivan Show 36 times, touring the nightclub circuit, and appearing in movies, TV shows, and stage productions together. Meara died in 2015.

Stiller was renowned for playing the fiery Frank Costanza in the television sitcom Seinfeld and the cantankerous Arthur Spooner in King of Queens.
