Inspirational Quotes by Harold Stephens (American Travel Writer)

Harold Stephens (b.1926) is an American travel writer.

Born in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, Stephens started his writing career while enlisted as an American marine in China 1945–49. After the communist revolution, he returned to America and attended the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Following a short stint with the National Security Agency, he started traveling and writing.

Stephens has served as a travel correspondent for various publications, including The Washington Post and Bangkok Post. His books about travel and history include The Education of a Travel Writer (2009.) Who Needs a Road? (1999) describes his world-record 42,000-mile road trip around the world in his Toyota Land Cruiser.
