Inspirational Quotes by William Greider (American Journalist)

William Harold Greider (1936–2019) was an American political and economic journalist, editor, and popular author.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Greider attended Princeton, where he majored in English and served as an associate editor of The Daily Princetonian. He launched his career as a reporter for the Wheaton Daily Journal, Wheaton, Illinois, 1960–62.

Greider worked for 15 years at The Washington Post, where he was a national correspondent, an assistant managing editor for national news, and a columnist. He then served as a columnist and domestic affairs editor for Rolling Stone 1982–99. Later, he joined The Nation in 1999 as the national affairs correspondent and was a correspondent for six “Frontline” documentaries on PBS, including “Return to Beirut,” which won an Emmy in 1985.

Greider’s notable books include One World, Ready or Not: The Manic Logic of Global Capitalism (1997,) about the global economy; Secrets of the Temple (1987,) a critique of the Federal Reserve System; Who Will Tell the People? The Betrayal of American Democracy (1992;) and The Soul of Capitalism: Opening Paths to a Moral Economy (2003.)
