Inspirational Quotes by Martha Stewart (American Businesswoman)

Martha Stewart (b.1941,) née Martha Helen Kostyra, is an American businesswoman, writer, and broadcaster. A domestic lifestyle pioneer, she built a catering business into a global media and home-furnishing establishment, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.

Born to a large Polish-American working-class family in Nutley, New Jersey, Stewart worked as a model while in college, then as a securities broker, before starting a catering business from the basement of her home. After embarking on a career as a cookery and lifestyle writer, she quickly launched herself as a household name, and all through the ’90s had her magazine and television program, both titled Martha Stewart Living.

As chief executive of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Stewart is one of America’s most successful businesswomen; though, in 2003, she was accused of securities fraud and subsequently sentenced to five months in prison for lying to police investigators. After her release, business ventures and personal marketability rebounded, and Stewart is still considered by many as exemplifying aspirational living.

Stewart has published thirty-five books, including Martha Stewart’s Baking Handbook (2005,) Martha Stewart’s Homekeeping Handbook (2006,) and The Martha Manual: How to Do Almost Everything (2019.) Her books have together have sold fifteen million copies. Her life story is recounted in the television films Martha, Inc.: The Story of Martha Stewart (2003) and Martha: Behind Bars (2005.)
